We haven't seen Celine Dion for a while, but she is back. Appearing as Vogue France's May 2024 cover star in a series of glamourous images, Dion shows she is a force in fashion, a pinup of ageless style at 56, and a woman who isn't afraid to show off her body. As the world knows, the iconic singer had to take a break from performing due to her ongoing battle with stiff person syndrome. The autoimmune neurological disorder causes muscle stiffness that spreads from the trunk and abdomen to the legs and other muscles. Dion has been bravely battling the disease behind the scenes and now she's ready to share her journey.

An article with Music Times reveals how Dion is handling her illness. "I didn't fight the disease, it is still in me and forever. We will find, I hope, a miracle, a way to cure it with scientific research, but I must learn to live with it. So that's me, now with stiff person syndrome."

The cover shoot is the epitome of glamour. Dion has always had a passion for fashion, after all. We draw your attention to her loved/loathed, seemingly backward John Galliano tuxedo at the 1999 Oscars. So we knew Dion and the team at Vogue France would go all out. The superstar wears a fluffy pale pink Alaïa creation on the first cover with coordinating pumps. Then she shows off her dance moves on the second sporting an open white button-down.

But the fashion bonanza doesn't stop there. In the pages of the May 2024 issue, Dion is decked out in a Schiaparelli dress, a Jacquemus coat and a chic Saint Laurent jacket and dress combo. The fashion spread is worth picking up the magazine for, too.

Dion also breaks down how she's coping with the condition. "Five days a week I do athletic, physical and vocal therapy. I work on my toes as well as my knees, calves, fingers, singing, voice. You simply have to live it! I have this disease for some unknown reason. I have two choices. Either I train like an athlete and I work super hard or I disconnect and it's over. I stay at home, I listen to my songs, I stand in front of my mirror and I sing to myself. I chose to work with all my body and all my soul, from head to toe with a medical team."

That's not the only thing Dion discusses in the wide-ranging interview. She also touches on her career and her definition of beauty. "I'm very proud that, at 55, I've been asked to reveal my beauty. But what is beauty? Beauty is you, it's me, it's what's inside, it's our dreams, it's today. Today, I'm a woman who is feeling strong and positive about the future. One day at a time."

The issue hits newsstands on Wednesday, April 24.
