The Tony Awards' red carpet doesn't get enough credit. When you're competing with the Oscars and the Grammys, known hubs for glamorous gowns and gasp-worthy ensembles, it can be tough to stand out from the crowd. But this year's ceremony promises to deliver quite a few showstopping looks as several of our favorite style stars have earned nominations.
The Best Leading Actress in a Play category is packed with stylish celebrities. Take Rachel McAdams up for her performance in Mary Jane. Then there's consistent red carpet slayer Sarah Paulson nominated for Appropriate. Jessica Lange is up for an award based on her role in Mother Play.
The producer bracket is also pretty impressive. Alicia Keys is one of the producers behind Hell's Kitchen, which makes sense since the musical is loosely based on her early life and features her music. (Another reason to tune into the award show is to see if we're treated to Keys belting out a number or two.) Angelina Jolie also got nominated for producing The Outsiders.
Ariana DeBose will host for the third time in a row and you know she'll have dozens of outfit changes during the CBS broadcast. The 77th Annual Tony Awards airs Sunday, June 16.
In honor of all the sartorially-minded celebs that'll be attending the event, we're looking back at some of their finest red carpet looks.
