It's no secret that a closet must-have for any fashion lover is a Brandon Blackwood bag. Since its compelling End Systemic Racism Tote and Kendrick bags took the industry by storm in 2020, the CFDA-nominated brand has reached iconic status with a host of monumental moments under its belt. The brand has expanded into footwear, outerwear, swimwear and now, you guessed it, apparel.
The line called BBStudio is set to release its first collection on June 14 with a host of lively wardrobe essentials, including bodysuits, T-shirt dresses, skirts, cropped tees and pants in colorful hues and breathable fabrics just in time for summer. What makes it even better? The capsule's pieces will be priced anywhere from $35 to $95 and include a diverse size range of XS to 3X.
It's no surprise that the brand's namesake has extended his unmatched talents into clothing. Within the last two years, the Brooklyn-born designer has crafted ensembles for some of today's biggest stars, including Sheryl Lee Ralph at the 2022 Emmy Awards that marked the brand's first-ever gown design, a black dress for Serena Williams at the 2023 NAACP Image Awards and Beyoncé's icy blue gown during her Renaissance World Tour.
BBStudio was also inspired by the brand's tight-knit community called cousins. "It was important for us to build out the full closet of the Brandon Blackwood customer," the brand explains in a statement. "We noticed on social media that our bags were not just an addition to a look but rather the inspiration. We wanted our design studio to create something for the masses, allowing something for everyone."
As we await next week's launch, be sure to shop other high-quality staples on the brand's website.
