Casting actors to headline fashion campaigns is certainly nothing new. See, well, a large chunk of the campaigns currently out there. Frequently, they're hired due to their offscreen star power as opposed to all of their industry accolades and awards. Prada is switching things up, however, by employing an actor to actually act in its ads.
Carey Mulligan stars in Prada's Spring 2025 campaign literally transforming into a variety of characters. Captured by, who else, the illustrious Steven Meisel, the Oscar nominee takes on several roles in the Acts Like Prada images, a not-so-subtle nod to the brand's Fall 2021 Feels Like Prada campaign. The concept was to have Mulligan appear "again and again, never the same and never herself." Demonstrating how fashion can change attitudes and shift perceptions. Each portrait serves as a celebration of people and a study of Prada.
