Collaborations aren't hard to find these days. Whether it's shoe companies like Adidas and Nike joining forces with top designers or more unexpected pairings, like LoveShackFancy partnering with Stanley. Self-Portrait is flipping the script, however, by creating a residency program sponsoring different designers.

"The fashion industry can often be isolating for designers, with brands competing for space and attention," explains Founder and Creative Director of Self-Portrait Han Chong. "I have been thinking a lot about ways to try to evolve this by looking at modern ways to approach collaboration. Having spent the last ten years building our brand and honing our team's skills, it feels incredibly rewarding to share our expertise and techniques with others, giving them the keys to our studio, and the space to explore and expand their own craft, while staying true to our commitment to honest luxury. Self-Portrait Residency aims to not only enrich and evolve our collections and redefine how we connect with and excite our customers, but I hope it will also provide a home for creativity to thrive and prosper."

The London fashion house and its studio will play host to "creatives from all disciplines" as they independently create one-off collections. First up is Christopher Kane, who shuttered his eponymous brand last year. His collection is scheduled to be released in November.
