While most people consider January the start of award season, the fashion set actually begins celebrating it in December. Why? Well that's when The Fashion Awards ceremony takes place. The primary fundraiser for the BFC Foundation is always full of the industry's famous faces and this year's nominees guarantee that tradition continues.
Designer of the Year boasts one of the most impressive group of nominees on record. Chloe's Chemena Kamali, Maison Margiela's John Galliano, Miu Miu's Miuccia Prada, Alaïa's Pieter Mulier, Rick Owens' Rick Owens along with JW Anderson and Loewe's Jonathan Anderson are all in the running. Speaking of Mr. Anderson, his brands are everywhere on the nominee list, from the aforementioned Designer of the Year to British Menswear Designer of the Year to British Womenswear Designer of the Year.
The New Establishment categories are also pretty interesting. For womenswear, the designing forces behind Dilara Fındıkoğlu, Kiko Kostadinov and Chopova Lowena receive praise. On the men's side, Labrum London and Ahluwalia are just two of the standouts. The top model race is stacked as well with contenders like Anok Yai, Liu Wen and Mona Tougaard.
