Go big or go home is definitely the mantra of fashion month. That applies to New York, London, Milan and Paris. There's a definite downside that comes along with all the excess, however. Where do your eyes look first? Then second? Third? If you're actually watching the runway, you only have mere seconds to take everything in before moving along to the next look. Now you may zoom in on the collections to see every last detail, but, frankly, we know you don't really have time for that. There are bills to pay, TV shows to binge-watch. Which is why we've rounded up all of the must-see-because-you-probably-missed-it-the-first-time-around Fashion Month Fall 2024 jewelry.
The bling is mostly gold. Sorry, silver. Although we're treated to some Lucite and colorful ceramic baubles. When it comes to earrings, ginormous is the standard. Balmain, Erdem, Rokh, Badgley Mischka...we could go on, but we're assuming you get the idea. Not all of them come in pairs, either. Some are even mismatched. You'll find plenty of danglers. It's actually amazing how many different ways you can style them.
Earrings look like they came out of one of two decades: the 80s or 2000s. Off-White's butterfly statement piece feels like it's been ripped right from the latter. While Retrofête's offering feels more vintage and wouldn't look out of place in the aforementioned 80s. It's worth pointing out at this point that many earrings are likely to come in clip form. We're guessing that's because having your ears pierced is not a model job requirement.
Hand jewelry is trending. We're not just talking stacking rings, although that's certainly still occurring. Connected rings that cover multiple fingers are becoming a thing. Christian Dior supplies a slip-on piece that places baubles between fingers and around hands. It's like an elegant spin on brass knuckles. Dries Van Noten takes a more eclectic approach with different size orbs arranged rather haphazardly decorating fingers. Not feeling the vibe? You can always do as Paul Costelloe does and rock your rings over your gloves.
Prepare to post lots of selfies because Instagram's favorite accessory activity is showing some real staying power. Necklaces are layered seemingly with abandon, but there may be some method behind all the madness. Chokers are demanding their moment in the sun with Chloe, Collina Strada, Fendi, Knwls and Richard Quinn pushing for their prominence.
Surprisingly, bracelets are only occasionally stacked. That may have something to do with the fact that a large portion come in cuff form. Those cuffs not only surround wrists, but arms as well. The arm bands are interesting since this is a fall season. Maybe they're designed strictly for those somewhat warm days as we first move into fall. Or they're supposed to be worn over your jacket, which, in this case, requires you to size up. The other possibility is they're meant to be covered up only to be revealed to a select few. Kinda like when Janet Jacket's belly chain is pulled out from under her jeans in the "Again" music video.
