We're Calling It: These Are the Soon-to-Be It Shoes From the Fashion Month Fall 2024 Collections

A vast array of footwear walked the Fall 2024 runways. Literally. The usual winter suspects are well-represented. Like just about every style of boot, but especially over-the-knee ones. See Coperni's thigh-high stilettos or Chloe's studded boho option or Off-White's abstract print pair. In the loafer department, Sabato de Sarno of Gucci doubled down on supersize stack heel styles showing fabulously precarious slingbacks. Fellow street style favorite Daniel Lee of Burberry presented some chunky-heel, hardware-tipped fringe options.

Kitten heel shoes are another pretty popular style, slinking down the catwalks of Erdem, Miu Miu and many more. Bow motifs are also big, from the tied-on stilettos at Alaïa to the heeled knee-high boots at Sandy Liang to the duotone pumps at Prada.

But if we have to guess which style will ultimately usurp Alaïa's still-in-demand ballet flats, we'd bet on something fuzzy. That's based on frequency of appearance, not functionality. (Is it just us or are winters getting more and more slushy?)

For their Fall 2024 collections, when it came to shoe design, designers paid special attention to material to rather campy effect. At Luar, white thigh-high yeti boots complemented a chocolate-brown leather miniskirt. At Simone Rocha, we saw guinea pig-like ballet flats. Over at Jil Sander, there were pale green shag shoes. Eckhaus Latta did chunky platform boots in scarlet red pony hair or some faux equivalent. While Ferragamo had a rainbow of feathered mules. Suffice it to say over-the-top texture was the rule of the day or, rather, season.
