It still amazes us that with all of the collections packed into any given fashion month that somehow designers manage to read each other's minds. How else can you explain all of the trends that come to life during those four weeks? Do they all get together and secretly have a meeting where they come to some kind of consensus on what will be labeled "in" and what will be banished to fashion Siberia? The Fashion Month Spring 2025 trends establish those very parameters, but this time around, they're actually seasonless.
There's a lot competing for attention. Collars make many looks, although their kooky nature may make them hard to pull off IRL. Sleeves are also clamoring for recognition as they're intentionally extended. When it comes to colors, butter yellow is still in the chat as designers can't seem to break up with the mellow shade. Cropped jackets are all the rage, especially in trench form. Plus, one alienating trend that started over a decade ago is back in the spotlight.

Crazy Collars
Calling them statement necklines would be an understatement. The collars this season are straight up insane. From Schiaparelli's unbalanced lapels to Alexander McQueen's seemingly over-starched white shirts to Bottega Veneta's half-folded take, these collars are basically bonkers. In the best possible fashion way, of course.
Even Better Butter Yellow
Butter yellow has been trending for some time now. Even as recently as over the summer and heading into fall. Looks like it'll stay with us come spring. Alaïa doubles up on the hue with a long coat and a ruffled miniskirt. Chanel breaks up its butter with a black belt. While over at Issey Miyake, different shades help distinguish the sheer layers of a dress.
Tie One On
Tying a sweater or jacket around your waist or shoulders is nothing new. For Spring 2025, designers decided to take things up a notch. Balenciaga turns a motorcycle jacket into a gorgeous, yet seasonally-inappropriate, gown. Off-White makes it look like one track jacket is coming apart at the seams while another is in reserve around the waist. If Miu Miu is embracing it, you know it's bound to be big.
Cropped Trenches
Tench coats are spring and fall staples. Instead of the longer type, brands are pushing cropped takes. Even trench coat expert Burberry is getting in on the action. Its offering features a scarf collar in a sumptuous mossy shade. Ganni's boasts plenty of buckles. Max Mara supplies a matching maxi skirt and Rokh's short-sleeve version uses a belt as an optical illusion.
Peekaboo Sleeves
Sleeves want their time to shine. Oversized cuffs are folded over jacket sleeves courtesy of Palomo Spain and Max Mara. On the other hand, Ann Demeulemeester and Marques'Almeida take a frillier approach.
Peplums Redefined
For many, the most challenging trend will be the resurgence of peplums. Part of almost every collection in the early 2010s, they remain divisive with many convinced their very existence leads to unflattering silhouettes. Dries Van Noten, Bottega Veneta, Rokh, Victoria Beckham and Louis Vuitton beg to differ. For the former, the brocade pattern covering the peplum and the skirt enhances rather than distracts. In most cases, the accents are attached to skirts. Rokh and Louis Vuitton break from the norm with shapely shirts, which actually help narrow waists.
