While many artists dip their feet into fashion, Tyla has managed to cement her style status practically overnight. The singer shot to mainstream success last summer with her hit song Water, which landed her a Grammy. On her quest to become the first global popstar from Africa, the 22-year-old has effortlessly taken the world—along with fashion, by storm.
Amid her rise to superstar status, Tyla has an impressive roster of groundbreaking looks, often working with stylists Lee Trigg and Katie Qian. As for her recent Met Gala debut? She slayed in a jaw-dropping, sand-inspired dress by Balmain, single-handedly igniting the trend for sand-colored fashion this season. Tyla's also mastered the "naked dress" trend on more than one occasion. Who could forget that water-look Atelier Versace gown she wore to this year's Grammy Awards, or the baby blue, thigh-baring Di Petsa number at the 2023 GQ Men of the Year party?

Minus the Neanderthal bones—and the fact most of us don't have Tyla's body— a cutout mini or maxi black dress is a fresh new take on the LBD. Y2K Denim Mini Skirt
If you're a fan of Y2K fashion, then consider adding a denim mini-skirt or cut-off shorts to your summer outfit rotation.
