Every fashion house has certain codes and heritage. Burberry's hallmark checks serve as a prime example. For Gucci, it's the serpent with the motif being used countless times in the Italian brand's history. How apropos that we're inching ever closer to officially marking the Lunar New Year and 2025 will be the Year of the Snake.
Gucci Creative Director Sabato De Sarno has reimagined the serpent for the occasion, affixing it to everything from an embroidered pouch to a wool bouclé jacket. But not everything is a straightforward shout-out. See the slithering prints decorating shirts, skirts, dresses and even fancy footwear. Chinese actress and brand global ambassador Ni Ni shows off the women's collection in a new campaign. In addition to celebrating the capsule, the ads, which also star fellow brand ambassador Xiao Zhan, honor the "warmth of festive reunions."
