Winter is full of fashion-related dilemmas. How do I stay warm yet look put-together? Can I still wear heeled boots? Will I be able to raise and lower my arms with five layers of clothing on? It also inspires a healthy slew of beauty concerns. How do I treat or, better yet, prevent chapped lips? Do I need to wear sunscreen during the winter months? How can I avoid the disastrous hat head? We're tackling that last one by compiling the top 10 hat hairstyles courtesy of the runways.

While most are from fall collections, surprisingly some do come from spring presentations. The common thread is that the hairdos work with a topper and after said topper comes off, they still hold up. In a few cases, the looks only work with specific types of hats. Fortunately, winter chapeaus come in a wide range of styles, from standard beanies to berets to furry bucket shapes and even trapper-type hats.

Keep reading to learn the best hat hairstyles to rock for the rest of the season. Feel free to also sport them in spring.

Can't decide between a middle or a side part? Split the difference by embracing a more angular approach. (That way onlookers will get a surprise anytime you remove your hat.) Pull the top section of your hair into a half ponytail, then tuck and loop the ends of all your locks at the nape of your neck.
