Kelsea Ballerini was one of the belles of the ball at the 2024 Grammy Awards. The country superstar rocked a Vera Wang Spring 2024 black silk organza halter mermaid gown with silk chiffon ruffles and hand-painted lavender silk organza florals. Ballerini's beauty look was just as amazing thanks to hairstylist Danielle Priano and makeup artist Kelsey Deenihan.
Priano partnered with Pantene to craft the singer's three-tiered ponytail. Priano wanted a structured, modern style to contrast the femininity of that showstopping dress. The hairstylist began by washing Ballerini's hair using Pantene Pro-V Miracles Bond Repair Shampoo and Miracle Rescue Deep Repair Conditioner With Melting Pro-V Pearls to provide a healthy base. Then Priano prepped her hair with the Pantene Heat Primer Thermal Heat Protectant. Next came a soft blowout using a blowdry brush. Two shades of tape-in extensions were sandwiched and prepped using a flat iron to make sure they were straight before taping each one around Ballerini's hair to flawlessly blend the shades.
Pantene's Flexible Waves and Curls Gel was combined with Pantene's Pro-V Miracles Infinite Lengths Conditioner, then Priano applied dime-size amounts of the mixture while dividing strands into three sections. Each section was tied from top to bottom to create a tiered effect. A flat iron was once again used to ensure the ponytail was super sleek. Finally, Pantene's Hydrating Anti-Frizz Serum helped seal the look and make sure it remained shiny.
CoverGirl teamed up with Deenihan to design an equally head-turning makeup look. She started by sweeping a mixture of CoverGirl Simply Ageless Skin Perfector Essence Foundation in shades 30 Light-Medium and 40 Medium on Ballerini's entire face for a sheer, even tint. CoverGirl Clean Invisible Concealer in 107 Light Beige was added under Ballerini's eyes and to her T-zone to conceal and brighten.
Ballerini's eyebrows were enhanced by CoverGirl's Clean Fresh Brow Filler Pomade Pencil in 200 Blonde followed by CoverGirl Clean Fresh Brow Nano Eyebrow Pencil in 200 Blonde to create hair-like strokes to fill in any sparse areas. CoverGirl Clean Fresh Brow Enhancer Gel Wax in 100 Clear was added to ensure everything stayed in place.
When it came to eyeshadow, Deenihan applied the lightest beige from the CoverGirl Clean Fresh Clean Color Eyeshadow Palette in 212 Shimmering Beige across the entire eye with a fluffy eyeshadow brush. The matte mauve from the CoverGirl Clean Fresh Clean Color Eyeshadow Palette in 242 Mellow Mauve was then swiped on the eyelid and the lower lash line. A smaller tapered eyeshadow brush helped shape the eyebrows, while the second shade in the palette was added softly to the inner and outer corners of the eye. The fourth shade, a shimmering lilac, was applied to the center of the eyelid, then softly dusted with the CoverGirl Exhibitionist by Kelsea Ballerini Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow in 2 Nashville Dream for a little glitz. CoverGirl Perfect Point Plus Ink Eyeliner Pencil in 280 Shimmering Brown was used on the top lash line. Eyelashes were amplified by a few generous coats of CoverGirl Lash Blast Cleantopia Mascara in 800 Extreme Black.
Ballerini's glow came courtesy of CoverGirl TruBlend So Flushed High Pigment Bronzer in the color 390 Sunset Glitz, which was used around the frame of her face and across her cheekbones. For a flush of color, Deenihan added CoverGirl TruBlend So Flushed High Pigmented Blush in shade 320 Love Me on top of the cheekbones.
A pinky-nude CoverGirl Exhibitionist Crème Lipstick in 235 Champagne was used to highlight Ballerini's lips. CoverGirl's Clean Fresh Yummy Gloss in 200 Laugh-vender supplied a kiss of gloss in a complementary lilac shade.
