The key to making it work during daytime is to skip sequins. You don't want to look like you just walked off a red carpet. Favor fall-appropriate items. So no flashy tank tops or shiny shorts. Don't be afraid to mix metallics, though. Topping off silver bottoms with a gold cardigan is not only acceptable, it's encouraged.
