Some may argue that the shows over in Milan play it safe when it comes to beauty. New York usually goes with a shock and awe mentality, London is super eclectic and Paris is as grand as they come. To be fair, this time around, the Italian city did present several no-makeup makeup looks. There are a handful of fashion houses that decided to take a bit more of a risk, however. Red lips are everywhere you turn, but each brand adds its own little touches to make them stand out from their runway neighbors. Elisabetta Franchi goes the glossy route amplified by red lip liner. Emporio Armani turns down the shine, but keeps the visible lip liner. Red-lip-loving Ferrari naturally keeps the tradition alive, although for Spring 2025 it tones it down with a more matte shade. Versace distinguishes itself by favoring a muted raisin-esque color.
Eyeshadow and eyeliner are featured in a far broader spectrum. Luisa Beccaria's light blue eyeliner makes models' eyes pop, while the neon eyeliner over at GCDS is balanced out by a bright pink lip. Gucci effortlessly combines cat and smoky eyes. Antonio Marras relies on artificial means to create a truly extreme flick. Ferrari pairs its aforementioned red lip with golden eyeshadow, making for the perfect New Year's Eve look. On the other hand, Marco Rambaldi's pastel eyeshadow simply screams spring.
Moving on to hair, Missoni rules the runways by sending down models with zigzag parts. A not so subtle nod to its classic pattern. Luisa Beccaria's big bows may just bring cottagecore back for spring. While the horn accents at Luisa Spagnoli give low ponytails a cool twist.
