The New York Fashion Week Fall 2025 Street Style Looks Are Cool, Creative and Chaotic

There's no escaping the fact that New York Fashion Week isn't what it used to be. Over the last few seasons, New York has lost quite a few designers. Whether due to brands shuting down or designers opting to show in other cities and the pandemic certainly didn't help matters. This season, some brands made a grand return to the Big Apple. Like Calvin Klein (courtesy of new creative director Veronica Leoni), Christopher John Rogers, Theory and Norma Kamali. Obviously, the more shows, the more street style. Which is probably why there are so many quality New York Fashion Week Fall 2025 street style looks.

First off, we need to give a special shout-out to the models. Often the unsung heroes of the week, they're frequently treated as footnotes since they're just slipping on looks to take them from the venue to their method of transportation. This time around, models really upped their game. From dramatically outsize scarves to street style photographer-stealing fluffy coats. That's not to say that the editors, buyers and influencers didn't throw their stylish hats into the ring. It just means the models took things up several notches.

You can tell it's been cold in New York City as the majority of showgoers dressed for the weather. That translates into some extraordinary outerwear. You've got dramatic, hopefully faux, fur coats, sleek and sometimes patterned trenches, animal print jackets — including the soon-to-be-everywhere cow pattern — letterman-style coverups and street-sweeping wool coats. A handful of attendees still decided to show some skin, but they still made concerted efforts to stay warm. Slipping on a see-through skirt over thick black tights and topping off the look with a cropped jacket provides a peekaboo moment without exposure so there's no risk of getting frostbite. Or picking a red knit dress with a couple of small sections for skin to poke through, then layering on even more red in the form of a leather coat and stretchy boots.

There's even a few seasonally-appropriate takes on the persisting no pants look. See the belted trench coat and black leggings capped off by black booties. Or the white turtleneck under a marled sweater styled with barely-there bottoms, tights, knee-high boots and a cozy peacoat. Then there's the layered leather look featuring a scarf-accented top, a trench, tights, a micro skirt and pumps.
