Quiet luxury is slowly but surely fading away. Perhaps it's because holiday party season is about to be in full swing. Or maybe it just wore itself out. After all, one can only be quiet for so long. In its place is a serving of somewhat subdued opulence. So not exactly screaming, more like talking in a confident tone. Embellishments are a great way to set the tone, but just make sure you wear them, not the other way around. Which is why we're spending our money on pearl clothing.

Sure, we could just as easily scoop up a pair of pearl earrings, a pearl choker or a pearl ring. That won't do it this time around. Pearl-accented clothing ups the ante by offering a far more striking statement. Apparently designers are of the same mind since there's no shortage of options out there. Simone Rocha is in a league of her own here because she's the literal queen of pearl accents. Now we're not talking about mother of pearl buttons. They're fancy enough, but they don't offer the pizzazz we're longing for this time of year.

You'll find those precious spheres decorating everything from sweaters to jackets to shoes and even jeans. Sometimes the orbs are clustered in one area. In other instances, they're evenly spread around. They can also vary in size on the same item of clothing. Many show significant restraint making them infinitely more wearable on a day-to-day basis.

There needs to be a disclaimer, however. You should only sport matching pearly pieces when attending holiday parties. Feel free to go overboard. You can even flaunt them with other flashy items, too. When it comes to your regular wardrobe, stick to one polished creation per outfit. (That also applies to bags and jewelry.) Wearing pearls from head to toe is way too much for a weekday or even a weekend.

Scroll down to see the pieces of pearl clothing that deserve spots of honor in your winter repertoire. They're available at a range of price points. Naturally, the designer options require a more fluid financial outlook. Invest in one object, then save some funds with a couple of fast-fashion selections. Pearls will always be in style so you'll be able to hold on to everything for a long time.
