In case you've been on a quest to amp up your fragrance repertoire, Valentino's newest offerings are an answered prayer. Starting today, the legendary Italian label has released seven scents in a collection called Anatomy of Dreams directly inspired by its brand identity and the sensuality that dictates Roman culture.

"It's the hedonism of Rome interpreted by the DNA of Valentino. It's the meeting of these two words that makes the magic," says a beauty spokesperson from the brand. The collection features non-gendered fragrances including classic olfactive notes and accords — everyday life in Italy reimagined fused with modern society. Scents even hint at the iconic Roman palazzo, which is the perfect cross between edginess and heritage.

Valentino already has a reputation of catering to various tastes and aesthetics and the Anatomy of Dreams collection remains true to it. Each perfume is customizable and can be layered according to a person's scent aspirations with the help of two fragrance enhancers that speak to both dark and light elements in order to tastefully edit a scent's initial impression. This versatility reflects the brand's desire to create something that's more elevated and high-quality as opposed to the trendy perfumes that saturate the current market.

Among the seven scents are Notte D'Oro, Club Couture, Punk Romantic and Behind the Seen. The notable Sogno in Rosso, which translates to "Dream in Red," was created by French perfumer Fabrice Pellegrin, who endeavored to respect Valentino's DNA in his formulation process. "The first was this idea of red, which is the iconic color emblematic of Valentino," he explains. "Also, there is its chic, elegant Italian side." The latter idea was an olfactive accord of black pepper and milk foam, which is a vital part of making cappuccino.

Other hero products are the L'Innocence de l'Air that includes notes of rose with hints of green tangerine and Private Talk that contains a tuberose and cappuccino accord. In addition to the lavish scents, all perfumes come in a weighty rectangular, clear glass bottle with the brand's signature studs that serve as an ode to the design of Roman doors.

The Anatomy of Dreams collection is now available on Valentino's website and in select boutiques.
