Belts are pretty practical. At least they used to be. First evidence of the handy-dandy invention dates all the way back to the Bronze Age. Initially, they were used to keep clothing in place or for holding tools. Nowadays, in the fashion universe, they've evolved into more of an accessory than a necessity. Need evidence? The top time for fashionable versions is fall (after all in winter they're covered up by bulky coats), but you can rock them in both spring and summer. Just like jeans, there's a debate about whether skinny or wide belts are the way to go. While early aughts wide belts are trying to make a comeback, they're a little clunky for the next several months. Their narrower close cousins are well-suited to the seasons, especially in eye-catching colors, like pastels and neon shades. Raffia and crochet takes basically scream spring and summer.
