Much like Phoebe Philo's line, we've finally arrived at the end of our winter accessory shopping guides. We've actually saved some of the best picks for last. When the weather gets cold, like brutally numbing to the point you're struggling to feel your extremities, it's time to cap off your seasonal outfits. So you'll need several winter hats in several different styles.
You don't have to search for long to see the wide range of fashion-forward toppers out there. So we wanted to make sure we selected a cornucopia of styles. That way you'll be able to switch things up depending on your outfit of the day, which usually depends on your frame of mind on any given day.
Let's break it down hat by hat. First up are balaclavas. If you remember, they experienced a real runway resurgence a few seasons back. Some think they're too much. Others think they add another sartorial level and manage to keep both your head and your neck warm. We fall into the latter category.
Next are the always beloved beanies. Opt for a solid-colored version or embrace a little logo love with a designer take. If you want to make it the focal point of your outerwear, opt for Versace's safety pin-accented wool creation. Or tops things off with Diesel's ombre number.
Fluffy bucket hats have become seasonal staples. Everyone will notice you sporting Loewe's butter yellow version courtesy of the prominent monogram. Same thing goes for Prada's shearling offering, as long as your head is turned to the side. COS and Zara have some lower-cost yet still chic options.
Now we'll go over the winter hats that don't fit into the other categories. Balmain's trapper-type hat is cozy personified. Etro's faux fur baseball hat is a little off-brand, but still a solid choice. Y/Project's leather and shearling hood offers all kinds of styling possibilities. Not to mention all the berets...
Then things get a little strange. Mango wants to make sure everyone stays on the Western wear bandwagon via a furry cowboy hat. Meanwhile, Urban Outfitters is pulling for bowler hats to pick up steam outside of the U.K. We're totally cool with both because we like a little character when it comes to what's covering our heads.
Here are the best toppers that are so good, you won't mind putting up with hat hair once you're indoors.
